First Day of Minimalist Christmas-Relive Christmas Past

1stDay

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Thank you so much for joining me in my first email series, ‘The 12 Days of a Minimalist Christmas’. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it for you. It is my gift to you this holiday season!

Children are part of what make Christmas such a wonderful time of the year. We can learn much from them about the true spirit of the season just by observing their excitement.

-Wonder at the beauty of snow.

-Joy in something as simple as beautiful lights.

-The desire to express love through giving to others.

-Trust and hope that good things will happen to us. (Santa WILL come)

-Excitement of being together with family.

-Happiness of listening to a Christmas carol.

All too often, as adults we get caught up in our to-do lists of Christmas. Today, stop for a few minutes and relive your favorite Christmas past. If you have a child nearby, share the memory with them, they love stories. If you don’t have a favorite Christmas, make this year a special one by creating new memories based on the simple things children enjoy during the season.

Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home!  Charles Dickens

And for the children in your life, I’ve created a 12-day Christmas Countdown just for them. Starting today, up until Christmas Eve, there is a daily message, question or story about Christmas. I like to print them out and read them after dinner while we all enjoy a mini candy cane together. Click Here to download and print.
